Discord permissions
The permissions Dexbi asks for when you add it, and what each one is for.
When you add Dexbi, Discord shows a list of permissions. Keep them all. If you remove one, the features that need it stop working, usually without an error.

| Manage Channels | Moving, renaming and deleting ticket channels (escalation, closing, Smart rename). |
| Manage Roles | Remove their access when a ticket closes (together with Manage Channels). |
Dexbi also needs to read message content, which is set on Discord's side for the bot. You don't need to do anything for it.
Permissions to check yourself
- Attach Files in your transcripts channel, if you added Dexbi before it asked for this permission. Without it, the log message is still posted with its View transcript button, just without the file.
- Change Nickname, if you use Personalize. Discord needs it to show Dexbi's nickname in your server.
- Mentionable roles. When Dexbi pings a role, the role needs Allow anyone to @mention this role turned on, or the ping won't notify anyone.
Channel permissions
Discord channel permissions can override the server-wide ones. If Dexbi works in one channel but not another, check that channel's permissions for Dexbi's role: it needs View Channel, Send Messages (or Send Messages in Threads) and Read Message History. Without these, Dexbi skips the message silently.
For ticket channels, check the category your ticket bot uses. Many ticket bots hide new tickets from everyone except the member and staff. Give Dexbi's role access to that category, or add it to your ticket bot's staff roles.
Warnings in the dashboard
- "Dexbi can't change channels in this server yet." Give its role Manage Channels. Until then, move, rename, remove access and delete steps are skipped.
- "This role isn't mentionable, so the ping won't notify anyone." Turn on Allow anyone to @mention this role for that role in Discord.
- "Dexbi isn't in this server anymore." Click Re-add Dexbi.
