Import files

If your knowledge already lives in files, upload them. Dexbi reads each file and saves it as a document in Documents, where you can edit it like any other.

1. Open Content and click Import document.
2. Drag your files into the window, or click to browse. You can add several at once.
3. Optional: switch on Understand images (Basic and up) if the files have diagrams or screenshots members might ask about.
4. Click Import.

Each file becomes one document, named after the file. Watch the progress in Jobs or on the row itself. When it says Live, Dexbi can use it.

Hover Failed to see the reason:

• We didn't find any text in this file. Often a scanned PDF that holds pictures of pages rather than text. Paste the text into a new document instead.
• We couldn't read this file. The file may be damaged, or saved in a way Dexbi can't open. Try saving it again or exporting it as PDF.
• This goes over your plan's limit. You've reached your document or storage limit.
• The import was interrupted. Click Retry.

The imported document is yours to edit. Fix anything that came out oddly, split long files into one document per topic, and delete sections that aren't useful for answering members.

Large files take longer. You can keep working while they import.

Moving from another workspaceCopy Anchor Link

To copy everything from one Dexbi workspace to another, use Export Workspace and Import Workspace instead. See Workspace tools.
